As of early September 2024, AC Milan faces several injury concerns affecting their squad. Key player Theo Hernández, who has been crucial in both defense and attack, is sidelined with a hamstring strain. The injury occurred during a recent Serie A match and is expected to keep him out for around four to six weeks. His absence is a significant blow as he provides both defensive solidity and offensive support down the left flank.

Additionally, midfielder Ismaël Bennacer is recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out of action since late August. Initial assessments suggest he might return in mid-September, but his recovery timeline will depend on his progress in rehabilitation. Bennacer’s presence in the midfield is vital for Milan’s ball retention and distribution.

Another concern is striker Olivier Giroud, who has been struggling with a recurring back issue. The club has not yet confirmed a return date, but Giroud’s absence could impact the team’s attacking options, particularly with important fixtures approaching.

Furthermore, young defender Malick Thiaw is dealing with a minor ankle injury. While he is expected to be available for selection soon, his fitness will be closely monitored to ensure no setbacks occur.

The injuries are putting pressure on coach Stefano Pioli to adapt his strategies and rotations, but the depth of the squad will be tested as they navigate through these challenging periods.
